E.Brake light stays on, Cruise doesnt work, any connection?

On my 1997 Dodge 3500 I just purchased, my emergancy brake light(on the dash) will not go off when the park brake is released, consequently my cruise control doesnt work, I dont even see a light on the dash indicating its on. Is there some "connection" between these two? Sounds funny to me, but Ive been searching on this forum throughout the evening and read bits and pieces where one occurance may have an influence on the other, but I cant find anything definite, anyone care to enlighten me, or tell me Im dreamin'?(LOL)
thanks,
coadman

"Brake" light staying on may indicate problem with "boo" brake on/off switch that disables cruise control when brakes are applied. just a guess.

The brake light will stay on if one of your brake light bulbs is burned out, don't think it will effect the cruise though. Don't forget the cab brake light when checking.

All the brake lights, tail lights, etc, on the rear of the truck work fine. And the parking brake does work, and holds well, and releases well, but the light still stays on. I was just grasping at straws with the connection between the cruise and brakes, but I know I read somewhere that someone stated, there was something "common" between the two.
thanks,

My brake light stays on as well. Is your orange colored brake light on as well?, mine is. I thought it was caused because of a speed sensor???

Dirt in or a bad low pressure switch ...should be located on your poportioning valve just under your master cyl .
Two wires going in ...jump across and if the light gose out it's proibly the area where the problem is .
