driveshaft slip yoke
My drive shaft is a 2 piece. I noticed a little streak of oil right above the u-joint. It seems to be coming from the back side of the slip yoke. The seal is dry as a bone. It looks like a plug (Kind of like a freeze plug) in the end of the yoke behind the u-joint. Anyone had this problem before and is there a fix other than buying a new yoke. What about JB Weld. I had to buy a pinion yoke about 2 years ago and they ain't cheap.

I haven't had a problem with that but if I did I wouldn't be afraid to either silicone or JB weld it tight. Then give the slip a good coat of grease and see if it holds up. Is the plug gone or just leaking?
Also is it the front or center yolk? I would be less prone to patch it if it were leaking transfer case fluid.

It seems I am not the only one thats had this problem. I did a search and found several others that had. 2 even blowed their transmission from this problem low oil. I talked to a parts guy this morning and he said dodge and chevy are the worlds worse about this problem. He said take it off and have some one weld around the plug but then I talk to driveshaft place and they said they had never had any luck trying to weld them they would last awhile and start leaking again One took the plug out and reglued it lasted about 20K. There is about 5 different yokes for this truck it is according to the build date even going with the VIN#. I called dodge parts.com they said it wasn't built any more I would have to go with after market but I called every parts house in a 50 mile range no luck. It is a splicer so Mon I am going to take it to a local guy that only use's this brand he said it would be 85 to 150 bucks he would have to look at to really know. For 116K miles thats not very good quality I had to replace the rear yoke at 90K 250 bucks. I got a old 77 ford with a 460 engine 340K miles never even replaced a u-joint.

Ah just noticed you got 2wd. Bummer! Auto or stick? If you measure the old one and get a spline count shouldn't be too hard to find one. I was able to find a 4wd yolk for my buddy fairly easily just through local junk yards, got a low mileage one for $40.
On searching, try contacting someone like these guys.
