maybe i'll end up buying a auto and just doing this swap.... i've seen a couple nv4500's for sale for 1500 or so, not bad considering how much 5spd cummins go for stock..

I'm right in the middle of my swap, I can help alittle, I get most my information from lewis and peter on this site, lol...

For the wiring, to keep cruise control, Cut the plug off the clutch position switch (the 2 wires that are attatched to the clutch master cylinder rod that attatches to the cluth pedal) ground one of the black ones, then run the other black wire down to the new 5spd trans. The auto had a plug that had 3 wires (one for nuetral safety, the other two for the backup lights). Take the black/white nuetral safety wire and wire it to the black wire you ran down from the clutch posisiton switch. Then take the other 2 back up light wires and wire them to the nv4500 back up light switch on the top of the trans (take the plug off the trans to a hardware store and get a male plug that fits it to make wiring it easy). Thats all the wiring you need to do.

The speed control plug is on my transfer case so I don't have to touch that one, but you might for the 2wd trans, but I'm not sure.

Ok I'm getting ready to do this on a 01 and need to know what I'll have to do wiring wise to get it to start. I'm not good with the diagrahms so if you all could tell me which wires and what I need to do it would be great. Mine is 2wd if that matters.

If ur puting in a nv4500 it's really simple.
