Cold Starting questions

For the last 3-4 weeks I've noticed that the idle is around 500rpm in the mornning, is this normal for cold weather or should it be at 700rpm all the time?

Also, the last cupple of days have been cool and the wait to start light has been staying on longer than the WIF light. When the motor is started the ALT gauge cycles from 7-8V to 14V, is this just the air/fuel heaters cycling?

Cheers

as long as your idle comes back up to where its supposed tobe when truck is warm, everything else sounds normal for a cold start.

The idle comes up to normal after a minute or two of me holding it at 700rpm.

Cheers

The idle is normal. If its really cold, it will hang down there for a longer time depending on the engine oil you are using.
