Clutch type questions.
Clutch type questions.
I tried to avoid posting a clutch question because I know there are tons of them here, but, after searching, I need a more direct answer. I'm at a cross roads of sorts. I'm going to replace my clutch because a #10 plate makes my stock clutch slip bad enough that I put the stock one back in. I've spoken with two clutch companies that most appear to use, South Bend and their competition, and both have recommended clutches using two organic facings. Now my problem, my knowledgable friends think it would be better to go with a clutch that uses one organic and one feramic facing. Their logic is sound...it leaves room to grow. Since I ultimately am looking to pull 300-350 hp out of this truck(maybe up to 400), I too entered into this thinking an organic/feramic clutch would be the choice to make. But, now that I've heard what these two companies have to say, I wonder if I really do need to go up a step in clutch type or take the advice of those who have "been there, done that". So, I am going to ask what you think. Here's my situation...the truck is the one in my sig with the addition of a #10 plate in a 215 pump. This truck is my "daily ride" and my work truck. I don't tow, but, because of my work I haul 1 ton of block, stone, top soil, etc on a daily basis. So, what would you go with?
