Clicking noise when turning only in 4x4

When I test drove my 98 before buying I put in in 4x4 and worked great but never made any turns , It clicks bad when turning I'm thinking axle universals but wouldn't they make noise when in 2WD because they are still turning ?????

I had that problem with my 94. It ended up being a combination of bad axle U-Joints, and an upper ball joint.

Front drive shaft u-joints will make that when they get worn. Mine did pretty bad.

T case fluid is good , just changed it , it doesn't make the noise in 2WD that I can hear anyways , just in 4x4 when ya turn the wheel in either direction when driving. I have to get it checked out.

I have mine doing that too, very bad in 4x4, everybody stares at my wheel and make disgusted faces, I am buying few more days to nice weather to replace it.

While you have it off, check your brakes, if you need a brake job you might want to tackle it too since you'll have the hub off and that's where rotor is bolted on.

I'll have mine resurfaced, as might as well take advantage of the situation and fix anything needs fixed, it's not a quick job to take hubs off.
