The professionals use an ultrasonic cleaner similar to those used to clean jewelry.
Your best bet is to let a professional do it.

Some other questions??????
What made you think that the injectors were starting to foul and have to pull them? What were the symptoms of the truck, smoke, performance, etc? Thanks.

I am running used filtered down to 2 microns and dewatered. As far as why I suspect this to be my problem is there are only two more things that can be the cause and they are the injectors or the (GULP) injector pump. No I have not pulled them but I'm thinking this is next. Anyone have any stocker 160's? I can tell you this my egt are way up and power is down big, another tip is my IP acted text book when I installed these injector it had the classic studder as most small pump do when 370's are installed now the studder is gone. I'm bumming big time I miss the power bwith my 1000 miles to the tank of diesel. Anyone think it will help if I change my fuel filter and fill the new filter with power service and fire it off??

It can't hurt and sure be a lot cheaper and easier than pulling and cleaning the injectors. Keep us posted. Thanks.

At work a diesel truck we had got ran empty, would only run 45 mph after,so I put a couple qt of atf in the fuel & within 10mi I was runnin 70 mph again.
Alot easier than pulling your inj & etc.

I had the same problem when I ran used veggie oil. Mine wouldn't go ove 2000 rpm for anything. Try climbing a 6% grade at 35 mph with an unloaded truck. Anyways I changed the fuel filter and that didn't help we cut it open and it was full of black gunk that looked like the glycol that is processed out of it when it is turned into biodiesel. Took it to the guy that tuned my pump up for him to fix it. He had to do something in the pump I don't quite rember what it was and he replaced the fuel line from the filter to the IP for $200. Needless to say that was the last time I ran raw veggie oil in it.

I don't run my vegi through my trucks fuel system it runs stand alone in a clasic to tank set up so as far as the that being the problem I doubt it. More than likley I just fouled the injectors? Its great to have good economy but tough to have both performance and good milage. So if anyone has a good set of stockers let me know I'm going to go back to stock and try a set of bigger delivery valves and see if that combo works???

If you do pull the injectors and change them, you might look up New Era "290's". They are a special cut by them to accomodate the higher viscosity of veg oil. Search for the thread "Veggie oil and injector hole sizes" on this forum and read what is said. It might be worth a call to them and check it out more. It might be worth the call just to learn more about injectors and how they handle the veg oil.
74Dart. It sounds like you ran what we call "hydrogenated oil" through a unheated stock fuel system. This is not pure vegtable oil, but oil that has a high percentage of animal fat in it that will clog your filters quickly with glop unless you have a lot of heat. Think Crisco, hard in the can, runny oil in the pan when heated. A unheated filter like your stock one is a kiss of death, they will not work.

Baja I have been running vegi for quite some time and I am aware of the facts and temps that must be run, in fact my truck is a two tank system that is completely separate from the diesel side and when I switch over the heat is usually around 150 degrees or better and as far as Hydrogenated oils go I am fully aware of the potential pitfalls of that oil as well. The key operative here is heat and lots of it! I just think that performance injectors are not designed to run vegi oil. I will have to check into the New Erra's though. Thanks

I have a conversion on my truck, and theres a couple things Id recommend for running WVO. It sounds like youve already done the most important steps of dewatering, filtering and pre-heating.
Are you running WVO for short trips? A good idea to save the WVO for situations where the motor gets nice and hot like highway or towing. I use just biodiesel for city driving.
Oh yeah.. Id get regular oil analysis done when using WVO. Look for signs of polymerized blowby gunk in the oil.
Baja, never heard of those new era 290's.. do they run smokey on #2 and bio? How much power over stock? Sounds like he just EDM's a set of 215's or something...
Some folks on veg forums also claim bigger injectors cause problems on veg oil.
