Change Fueling or no?
Change Fueling or no?
Well next Saturday, the 6th, dad and I are taking my truck up to mass. for the pats game. I have my gauges on the way, so i was wondering, if im getting 17Mpg now with a 10plate at stock, starwheel turned up and timing bumped, are there any adjustments i could do to gain a few extra MPG's? Would moving the fuel plate give me any more MPGs. Its a long trip so if im gonan lose MPG's im gonna leave the fuel palte where it is.
Thanks
Mike
Thanks

bumping the timeing will help with gaining thoe extra mpgs but turning the starwheel up wont necessarily do the same. The star wheel just changes fuel in relation to boost; too much will result in alot of wasted fuel and more smoke. You just have to find your trucks sweet spot by turning it up or down..by doing so spool time and throttle response will improve as for the fuel plate I havent noticed a difference in moving the fuel plate forward in terms of mpg
Plate and AFC tuning won't change your highway mileage any, as you need the same amount of fuel to go the same speed in same conditions. Accelerating, it will make a difference. Properly inflated tires, non-aggressive tread and slowing down will help the most.
