Catestrophic Forced Induction Failure
Catestrophic Forced Induction Failure
My turbo let loose last night when I was leaving to go to school. Tons of smoke and sounds like somebody threw a pocketfull of change in the motor. The only good from this is that it happened at home, not a hundred miles north at school. Came at a bad time, money is tight. If you or anyone you know has a spare hx35 that you need to get rid of cheap, let me know. Just needed to vent and complain a little.

I'm hoping that they didn't. Being at school all week, I won't have a chance to see the truck again until late Friday night or more likely Saturday afternoon after work. When idleing, the truck sounded fine, but I plan on pulling the intercooler and cleaning it out.
Look on e-bay, I seen one cheep the other day... I look for you and see if I can find it. I'll post the link if I do...
Edit... There are a few on there, press your luck. I typed in 'dodge cummins turbo', found a few used ones. HTH...

Got the truck back together today. Other than buring the rest of the oil out the exhaust, it runs pretty good. Still, when I get on the throttle real hard it blows a ton of gray smoke instead of black like it used to be. Hoping that might go away.
