Can't hear turbo!

Hi,

I bought my truck last winter. This spring I opened the window while driving and heard the turbo whine for the first time. I loved it! Now I can't hear it. Where did it go?

and a gone silencer ring equal BOOYAH!! turbo whistle!

But if you insist on keeping the stock airbox, go ahead and pull the sleeve that connects the airbox to the passenger fender and it will have more air and you will hear more whistle..

What Tx said, pull off the silencer ring and get a ScottyII intake, drilled through the firewall intake.

A friend of mine was saying that if you take out the silencer ring it could effect things because that is kind of a funnel that directs air into the turbo, w/o it the air wouldnt flow in as easy....Just wonderin...

Talking Glass Pack Muffler

When Warpspeed did my 4" exhaust, Dallas asked which muffler I wanted. How about the glass pack! Did I want the flutes or scoop things along the inner pipe of the muffler pointed towards the engine or away from it for less restriction. Uh, away! Nice mellow growl and you can hear the turbo at ALL speeds.

Yep. You won't find a silencer ring on a farm tractor or big rig.

That unnecessary piece of scrap metal is a Dodge part, not a Holset part.

I don't really understand why, but when I adjusted my valves today, they were all loose, my turbo came alive. I could barely hear it before, now it is definetly there. Could someone explain this. Thanks

I would think that the loose valves affected valve timing and restricted the amount of air flowing through the motor. All of wich effected the efficency of the turbo. At least all the valves were loose instead of tight.
