Re:Burning Oil
I had this problem with my 92 CTD, a quart of oil every 200 miles. It ended up not burning oil, it was blowing it out the crank case bleed tub. I ended up having a very bad #1 cylinder. I suggest you take a sample of oil to Cat or someplace that tests oil and have them tell you what kind of stuff is floating around your engine. They can also tell you what part of the engine the metal is coming from. Good luck, I hope it is not the same thing that happened to me. :'(

Re:Burning Oil
My 97 just started burning oil so let me know what you figure out. Bearfoot you said a blown turbo seal= lotsa white/blue smoke ,well after my truck has been idling for a while it starts smoking pretty good but it will stop after I get goin a while... Does this sound like what your talkin about? It also smokes sometimes(at idle) from the crank case bleed tube... Im guessin this is bad :'(. Lemme know what ya think
Wheels
Re:Burning Oil
I checked my turbo and it seems okay. I think it is either rings or valve guides. Does anybody think it could be these? It has new rings put in about 20000 miles ago. It has 250000 miles on the engine.
Any ideas as to what could cause oil to burn that fast.
