Brakes or tranny?
Brakes or tranny?
During routine city driving, occasionally when I come to a stop and then take off again there is a moment of hesitation. Like the brakes are still on. Can't determine if it's a stuck caliper, or the transmission is slipping. I pull an rv pretty often and never experienced any shifting issues. And I replaced the right caliper last summer, no brake issues till now. Where should I begin my search?
Whenever I think I might have brakes sticking, I try to determine if the truck rolls naturally on a slope, or there is resistance/drag.
Have also noticed that the brake pedal often won't want to fully retract when there's things wrong with the rear brakes. (Have two non-roadworthy trucks doing it now).

Rolls just fine. Every so often, sitting at a light or stop sign, when you let off the brake to accelerate, nothing, then it just goes. Drove it all day yesterday with a load of rock in the back, no issue. Really odd.
Feel your wheels and see if one or both are hot to the touch. If you have a dragging brake it'll heat up the wheel noticeably.
Sounds more like the transmission though. Have you checked the tranny fluid level? Make sure you do it with the transmission in neutral, not park.
