boost to high ?

boost to high ?

i have a 97 cummins and i tach welded the wast gate closed when i sWAPED IT INTO MY SUPERDUTY , and removed the vacume soliniod on the waste gate because of clearance issues , i ground the fuel plate to a #10, backed the star wheel all the way forward and the afc all the way forward , the truck is showing 65psi on stock turbo is that possible or is my used gauge a pos?

You running stock injectors? That sounds way too high for just a plate. I'd question the gauge.

Put another confirmed accurate gauge on it to see, but drive pressure in that turbo is good for ~35 PSI. It will take a bit more breifly, but it will shear the shaft. 65 PSI will take that turbo out pretty quick.
