How many times did you turn the engine over on each check? You should turn each cyl over 5 to 7 times and check ea cyl 3 times and average the readings for a true reading.

 

Thanks for all the help guys. I pulled the head and the gasket was blown between cylinders 5 and 6. It was a felpro from a previous owner.

One last question. What is the best way to clean the block surface area?

 

So I just got my truck out of the shop, they were doing the timing case and a clutch, got 50 feet out of the parking lot and it died and won’t start back up. Could the pump timing of slipped? It started just fine before I left the shop

 

Could you help us help you by telling us more about your truck?
My biggest question would be what style pump does your motor have?

 

98 12v p pump, the only thing I’ve done to it was turn the fuel up a little bit other then that it’s completely stock.
