Any tricks to removing upper control arms?
I just bought a set of polyurethane bushings for my control arms. I started looking it over today, and it looks like the upper control arms are confined on both ends. Is there more room in there to move things around and extract them, or do I have to get the axle forward enough to fish them out?
I just did mine today. I just used a drill and drilled multiple holes in the rubber bushings and then just ripped pieces of the rubber out til I could get the inner sleeves out. Once you get the inner sleeves out, the rest of the rubber comes out easily. I left the outter shells in the arms, no way they were coming out without damaging them. You can get it, just takes some work!
I bought a set or Prothane urethane bushings off of Ebay. The kit came with new bushings, sleeves, and grease. $85 delivered to the door.
I once bought a set for a 95 Jeep Wrangler for $20. The seller never got the time to install them. To bad he didn't buy a Dodge after his Jeep...
