Adjusting the idle

I need to adjust my idle speed. I have the factory manual and they make it look sooooo easy. BUT, when I actually look at the truck, it is totally a different story. I can't even see it, let alone reach it. Any tips?? Other than a partial disassembly of engine and components.

When you reach in under the rear of the pump, feel for the lever where the spring is attached and you will feel a 10mm nut over a sloted screw. Loosen the nut and with the left hand push the linkage back to take the pressure off. Then you can turn the screw with your fingers. It dosen't take much to make a big difference. It's not like adjusting the valves. The screw will stay in place while you shug the nut.

That's it.

I had to remove the screw and file it flat again before I could adjust the idle. It had a grove worn in it and when I moved it would change it too much. It was easy.
