97-98 pumps
I was wandering what was different in the pumps that are in the 180hp and the 215 hp 12v ctd? I'am going to buy a 98 auto 12v ctd. will this pump be better than the one that is on my 94? are the delivery valves bigger? what else is better? or should I buy a 5spd 98 12vctd?
I'am only buying it for a tax write off and will be selling it next year for a 02 excab 4x4 1ton auto fully loaded I hope. I will have to waite until next year and see what I find.
Thanks Aaron

The 94-95 pump is "smaller" than the 96-98 pump. The 96+ pump has a bigger camshaft plus delivery vavles than the 94-95. The 94-95 is less desired than the 96+ pump.

SuperDuty is right. I drive a 96 and the wife a 98. Both pumps are the same. The delivery valves will take about all you can through at them. The 94-95 just ain't so.

..Preston..

Re:97-98 pumps
The 94-95 pump will have 131 or 151 DV's the 98' Auto (as well as the Manual) will have 181's then for an hours worth of work and $250.00 you can add 191's to either. The only problem with the little pumps is un the upper RPM's if the motor is tweaked allot, but Piers has a little pump that is making 500 HP plus with an HX-40 as an example.

Jim
