So I am asking this question mor my dad who is having trans problems with his truck he got about 3 mos. ago.
Occasionally in the A.M. when cold pulling out of the driveway its like the trans will shift into neutral for a second and then back into gear. it only does this once and never when its warm, letting the trans warm up in neutral doesnt help. Yesterday he lost 3rd gear and OD. Shifts fine 1st and 2nd, but wont upshift anymor than that. Trans doesn't slip when in gear.
Any ideas?

do a filter fluid change and band adjustment check and install aa transgo tfod=diesel shift kit and your trany will wake up !

use atf+4 only fluid ! i get mine at wallmart .

Well pulled the pan and found some broken pieces, looks like a big snapring.
