96 12V 2WD upgrades

Greetings...

i started a thread apparently in the wrong forum.
i'm getting new to me, a 96 12V in 2WD. its just got into the 200K bracket.
i want to squeeze more out of this existing platform.

i've had 24V models and this is a new 12V to me.
there are some mods already done as follows:
Full rebuilt transmission, larger valve body, BD flex plate.
MBRB exhaust - 4"
AFE intake
Turbo pressure boost
3" lift
18" rims
New TPS (i didn't know 96's had these. i figured whole truck was mostly electronic)

guages...i have to get these.

thanks gentlemen and women.

What are your plans for the truck, towing/dd/just having fun?
Good thing is the trans sounds like it's ready for some light power upgrades anyhow. Tough to say how much without knowing what's inside or who built it. Light power upgrades yeild good power though, just a fuel plate, boost elbow, 3-4k governer spring kit, and timing really wake them up and cost is very low.

plans...just a grocery getter and for play.

its has a fuel plate...i'll find out which one exactly. the previous owner showed me a small piece of aluminum telling me that this is the fuel plate...or was the fuel plate. new one is installed.
Boost elbow...that installed already.
3-4 gov spring. I'm a little lost here. i always heard of the 3200 spring but not 3000-4000.
its already has installed the 4" straight pipe...pretty sure the silencer ring is still in there. i didn't hear any whining.

i called up BD diesel...they sent me some info but the real information is from the end users...i try not to listen too much to the sales staff.

thanks for the information

On the gov. spring kit, the new ones I've seen are sold as a 4k kit, one set of springs is left out for 3k rpm, or use them all for 4k rpm. Valve springs need to be upgraded if you're going to spend anytime above 3-3.5k or they'll float.

If you're just playing with it, get some gauges, pull the fuel plate, and have fun. Then spend money on more fuel and air, injectors/turbo.
