Unhappy 96 for $16,995.00 !!!

Well I called the guy and chatted with him, he said he would deal off of the $16,995.00 a "FAIR" bit, I told him I was going to drive 425 miles with CASH......And I asked him if he was sure he wanted to sell it, I told him I was going to pay around the 12 K mark he said ok....maybe not that cheap, but come on......Drove 425 miles to have him tell me it needs 6 tires, some front end work and he WOULD NOT MOVE off of $16,000.00.......I had asked him all these questions before I left and the answer's were very different on the phone......So I give up....think I will just buy a LADA or YUGO instead. !!!!

I think Scotty may have a YUGO left from when he was waiting for a truck. Probably a good deal too.

Don't give up, you're truck is out there some where. My son thought he would never find one and I found him a very sharp dually in Arkansas for $10k that already had about $7k worth of add ons on it already.
Check his pics below:

Dont feel bad I'm in western Pa and the prices ive seen here for these trucks are incredible!! I went and looked at a 95 2500 4x4 auto that had 140,000 on the clock. This truck had a plain looking dark and light grey paint sceme, fading on the hood( typical de-lamination). This truck also was hauling a 5th wheel trailer in its recent past. THe guy wanted 12,900 for it I just smiled and walked away. But, when i go on e-bay I see all kinds of great trucks for less $$ and better shape. Mostly always in Tx. Maybe im going to have to visit some of those good old boys down there, until then i'll just wait till I find a good one around here for the right price!!!

I got my 96 ex cab 2500 4x4 longbed auto from a dealer in SW AZ for $8900. 122k on the odometer. Everyone says I got a smokin deal. I was like a fly on a stink pile looking for a truck and I found it. You will too. Good luck.

You are finding out why I bought a ford. People are pretty price proud of their cummins diesels. Even the the trucks that are high milage and have had the crap beaten out of them so that almost everything but the cummins needs replacing.

There are good deals out there, though, so be patient. Good things come to those who wait.

Talking Don't give up

canucktrucks,
Don't Give up your quest! Try putting a wanted ad in the Triad News www.isell.ca It took me a LooooOOong time but I finally had a guy call me looking to unload a 97 5 spd extended. Dealer would only give him 8500. I got the truck for 10000 CAN.
Automatic trucks seem to be way more common so that may be why it took so long to get a reply.
Truck is nice, needed upper and lower ball joints, brakes, universals, and has host of other bugs but my cost is still under 13k Canadian including taxes.
They are out there......Happy hunting

fly into dfw airport here in texas, in less than 1 hour i will find you 30 plus rust free trucks under 12 grand. hell i will even let you stay at my place till you find the one you are lookin for. i paid 9999 for my 97 slt 4x4 excab dually, needed tires and the clutch was grabby. but this was a year ago also. go to auto traded.com and punch in my zip here in the middle of dfw76005 and do a 100 mile search. i sold my 92 4x4 dually last spring for 5600, the paint was weak but it only had 147k on it. mike
