95 Cummins ?'s

I'm looking at a 95 4WD ST w/ 5 speed that is for sale. I noticed that when the truck was cold and I went thru the gears it gave off a little blue smoke when getting on the throttle, seemed to clear up as it warmed up. I believe the truck is stock because it is a dog, which is ok with me, that way I can turn it up Is it normal for the 12V to blow some blue smoke when cold? The truck has 108K showing on the odometer. What is the avalibility of the parts like for the NV 4500 now that they are no longer made?

In my first few shifts of the day, when I get to around 2K rpms I do blow a little blue smoke. I think its a way of my truck telling me not to beat on it so early in the morning I have about 105K and do have 370's which dont help the matter.

True. And if you beat on it to hard, you'll be changing the head gasket. The Cummins does not like to be hammered cold. When it's warmed up, have a blast. But let it get there, first.

I have a 95 Ram auto stock and I let it warm up alittle while idling in neutral yes it does puff some but after it warms up it's good to go.
