Ok Ive been reading alot on here. I got a 94 ctd 4x4 reg cab dually 2500 5spd ( dually conversion) I am looking for some of the common problems that tend to sneak up on these trucks. Mine has 201000 and has a K&N and str8t pipe. I know about the kdp, plans are in the works, and im sorting thru the fuel line deal. Now remember lol Im new to deisels AND all the abbreviations!!!

fifth gear nut can fall off i haveen't had any problems with mine but alot of others have. there is a fully splined kit for around $350 you can buy to fix it i forget who makes it. my headlamp switch melted in my 94 might want to take a look at that. paint bubbles and rust on bottom of doors, but that is about it the engine is great, but anything dodge put on it i don't care for

Forrest Nearing has one in his photo gallery but it might be alittle to much for you. But do not fear he will chime in to set you in the right direction. He helped me

the fuel plate is kinda in a bad place on the motor. you gotta take off the fuel inlet tube, and the first 3 injector lines and the little inj. line holder thingy off the pump to make it easy. its under a cover kinda on the back of the inj. pump, i think its called the afc housing. (air-fuel control)?? but anyways, three of these bolts are pretty easy to get out. the last one is a pain. i always get one of those little flathead screwdriver bits and put it in a 1/4 inch socket on a 1/4 inch extension and hit it with a hammer till it mashes a flathead slot in it enough to get the bolt out, then when i get it out, i put it in the vice and hammer on it some more till it makes a nice slot to go back on easier. there is a metal holder with a bunch of wires on it that you have to move a little to get the afc housing off. just pull it toward the driver side of the truck, it looks like your bending it, but its just pivoting on a bolt so don't worry about it. the bolts that hold the plate on are really tight, so don't burr the head up, push down on the screwdriver pretty hard. when you put it back together, make sure to put the plate to the front and the afc housing to the back. it makes a difference!

no the kdp is under the timing cover and can cause real good damage if it falls out and into your timing gears.

theres another post on here on how to do it but basically theres a dowel pin that has a bolt about an inch from it, you can fashion a tab made out of steel and bolt the tab down so it bends up and onto the end of the pin keeping it from falling out
