Couple of quick thoughts. 1. Use a tranny jack. 2. When removing the crossmember, move it up, back, then down and out. Usually it will not come straight down without using a frame spreader of some type. On three projects, I haven't had to resort to one yet.

This makes 3, I guess, make some alinement studs(long bolts you've cut the head off of) to screw into the bellhousing to help with the final stab when installing the tranny. You've got to have perfect alinement to get the pilot shaft to slide into the pilot shaft bearing without damaging it. If you feel the temptation to pull it in with transmission bolts, it ain't lined up yet.

#4, (didn't intend to be this windy). I made a tool to depress the spring down to aid in shifter stub R&R out of a 1 1/4"x12" pipe nipple (might be 1"). Just used a hammer to flatten one end down about 1/2 way. You'll see how it works when you get to that page.

Good luck, RJR

I'm sure it could be done (discs on the 80) but not sure what all would be required. The 01.5's came with rear discs, so it is possible, may be able to get the needed stuff from a junkyard.

I'll stay out of the clutch discussion other to throw out that South Bend is preferd by most of the guys on here, and they make good clutches, and their customer service is legendary.

what i a mostly wondering about is that if my ABS would stull work. i am not all knowed up on how the dodge works on that. if it were like a normal old 60 i could just used the front roters from a dana 44 8 lug and build mounts for the calpers and so on
