5 speed problem

5 speed problem

A friend has a 5 speed behind his 94 Dodge Cummins 3500 4x4 and it got in a bind wouldn't shift and then after sitting freed itself up. Anyone got a diagnosis for these symptoms. Is this a 5th gear nut issue?

maybe the pilot bearing is going bad?

No, when it backs off the only problem is you only have 4 forward gears.
