I just swapped out my axle to make my 2wd a 4wd and the 4x4 light doesnt work. Does the "computer" on the firewall control this. The wiring harness is there and there is a bulb in the dash. I cant find any fuses for the 4x4. The light doesnt cycle with the key either, this is why I thought it might be controlled by the "computer". Any help would be appreciated.

 

There is a vacuum assisted thing I believe. I'm not positive but I know if your 4wd doesn't work then it usually is a vacuum leak. Hope this helps

 

Sorry, I fixed the post. I meant the 4x4 light in the dash. The 4x4 works just no light.

 

Not to be an a** but do you really need a light telling you it's in 4wd? Maybe it's just my unnessary crap phobia acting up.

 

Well it would be nice if it would work for several reasons. Its there, lets me know for sure its locked in and also a good indicator of problems with the CAD or vacuum switches/lines.
