4x4 to 2x4?

Is it possible? Does the 4x4 frame rails have the two wheel drive provisions? I know go buy a different truck but what fun would that be... Can I swap tail shafts to a 2x4 trans or is there more to it trany wise?

if you could locate a solid front axle from a 2wd CC truck somewhere , it should have everything on it ( axle, tail housing, driveshaft , etc) required to go from a 4x4 to a 4x2.

I assume you either have huge ($$$) 4x4 problems , or lots of spare time and want better fuel milage but like the truck you have now.

Cab and chassis , they had a dummy 4x4 axle , uses the same control arms ,coils , etc , you would even still have the same ride height etc.

whatever floats your boat.

if you can find a CC truck somewhere , it will have everything you need to do the swap.
