2wd manual tranny in 4wd?
Can a manual trans from a 2wd be refitted to work in a 4wd? If so what does it take?

Yep, need updated main shaft and tailhousing.

Since it is apart anyway, might as well rebuild trans as well.

It's not difficult at all, just very time consuming.
It really helps to have the 5th gear nut wrench, and a good set of snap ring pliers that grip really well (no smooth jaws!).
