2wd to 4wd
2wd to 4wd
I'm sure there's some great info on the site about this, but I've searched for about an hour now and haven't found it. I' have a '97 2wd and I'm thinking about making it a 4wd. Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction here. Cost and a few tips would be great. I plan on doing it myself, hopefully

It would be easiest to put leaf springs under the front instead of coils. You will need shackles, spring hangers, springs, u-bolts, 4x4 tranny and transfer case, driveshafts and make sure you get a front end with the same gear ratio as you rear or you will have trouble. As much money as it will cost unless you already have a front D60 you prob would be better off getting another truck.
