24v head on 12v?

I have a couple of friends who have built several p-pumped 24 valves. They say that they have a sound of their own.

Okay, so we would need different pistons, but I call BS on washing the oil off the cylinder wall. That happens with gassers, but diesel is an oil and HELPS lubricate the cylinder walls.

They wash down, and if its cold...they really wash down. Even stock!!

So what be the best a p-pumped 24V or a 12V? I'd think that by having the 24V engine plus the P-pump (instead of the VP44) you'd essentially be getting the very best of both worlds, right?

not really, the 12v has bigger stronger valves, and less moving parts, a 24v has double the chance to break a valve stem or spring, and the airflow gain is really not that significant.

There's this guy in Idaho I talked to on the phone. He owns a shop called Merwin's, and says he's been doing 24v heads on 12v blocks conversions for a few years now, does all the custom injcetor lines and everything, and also specializes in Cummins conversions into other trucks (GMs, Fords). 208-704-8928
