20+ Mpg

I got over 20 MPG from my house up to Seattle last week. Just curious if this will go down as engine gets more worn, or with mods. Also checking if this is average for a stock truck.

thats pretty average i think for highway driving with a 5spd.

that engine isnt even broken in yet... you should continue to get that for another 200k miles, at that point the engine might start to wear a little bit.

i've got 20mpg once with my auto going 65mph

average around 17 though(winter)

It shouldn't go down unless you get things like air leaks, or the fuel delivery components get worn, but those things can be checked and replaced easily, so it shouldn't drop off if you keep up on those things. I got 16mpg city with my dually that has 4.10 gears, with my foot in it some of the time, and it's not tuned very well either so i think it should be up to about 18-19 city once I get a few things cleaned up. Gotta love the cummins, it's pushing a heavy truck and getting good milage.

I got 20 mpg on the first trip home with my truck, at 190k miles on the clock. But I haven't seen that since. every now and then almost 19, but usually in the 16-18 range depending on conditions.

Average 19-20 all mtn driving in my '96 club cab LB with 164,000 on it and the pump turned up all the way. It stays the same even with about 80 miles a week in 4WD with an 8' blade on the front.

my 95 5sp I've hit 24mpg (hand calculated) but I think that was at a lazy 60-65. On the open road 70-75 I get about 22mpg which I'll take and run with it while i can... thats at 200k w/only an exhaust and bhaf

I get 20-23 on the highway empty with the cruise control set to 65-70. Just keep the oil and filters clean and the maintenence up and this should hold for a long time. It all depends on how much foot you get in the pedal and how you drive. I know my highway mielage goes down if I dont use the cruise control. Speed fluctuations will affect mileage.

Good luck with it!
