You might want to peruse Ebay, a couple of used ones on there, or hit up member Relinear on here, he always has a good known spare setting around.

Well , I put a new aftermarket turbo in there...it took about a hundred miles to blow all the oil through the intercooler but now it runs great again! Thanks guys, it wasn't the rings after all.

When you said aftermarket, did you mean one of the 400 dollar Ebay units?

If so, drive it very gingerly and save up for a good used OEM one.

You don't want to know what happens when one of those Chinese units comes apart, it isn't pretty.

so I bought a Turbone turbo for this truck for 265 bucks new in the box and took some modification to get it in there but once it was in it works fine and then after about 100 miles it quit blowing smoke and im back on the road

 

Just saw the holset video...im sure I bought a real piece of work. Like to put a Banks unit in there someday

 

Budgets sometimes must be met, so for now, just know it isn't a Holset, and drive it as gently as you can. You don't appear to be a heavy hauler or a hot rodder, so just drive it with the knowledge that it could fail, and save for a good used one or a stocker.

The cool thing about the Chinese Ebay turbos is there is always someone out there who will buy one for their turbo project.
