1996 diesel transmission

I have a 1996 diesel I put +60hp injectors in it also 4in exh. New air intake, Changed the fuel pump plate, and added a BD valve body in tranny. But know when I'am in overdrive at low RPM's the tranny feels like the converter is shuddering. If I step on the throttle it goes away???

Typical stock torq convertors on the dodge trans,,, you need to upgrade it as well,, and not just the valve body,, once you add horsepower,, the stock trans will not last long. Also with the year of truck, i would be willing to bet you will need a complete rebuild as there is prob alot of wear in that stock trans

Thanks for the info. but this truck only has 50,000 miles on it and i just rebuild the tranny about 5,000 miles ago I also added a heavy duty converter. This thing has done this since the rebuild I took it back they are saying its the motor and of course the guy who did the work says it is the tranny. I pull heavy trailers with this truck and as long as a keep it under a load no problems but as soon as i have low rpm's it feels like its shuddering.??? This truck runs like a raped ape..

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
What is the speed and gear that you get the shudder?
Have you put oversize tires on?

i dont think it fixes the problem or how long it will last , but since i am waiting for my stock trans to completely go out ( but i do baby it) to buy a whole new goerend one with tc ...i put that lubegard in the red bottle, and the dr. tranny shudder fix at the same time and i never felt it again...tranny still lasting 20,000 miles after power upgrades with 240,000 miles total on stock one and i had the same problems you were having....only when you creep on the pedal during lock up but when you press it more it goes away....but like i said i put these two tranny additives at the same time and they fixed it..havent felt in in 20k

ps found em both in tranny additive section at oreillys

Not trying to pry in on this post (I am new here), but I have the same problem with a 95 ctd in a ford truck that I did a conversion on. I have a 6 speed and when I put in my 90hp injectors I got a terrible shudder anywhere from 1000 to about 13 or 1400 rpm. I can just fuel through it and it stops. I am just wandering if it is not another problem instead of the TC? I noticed that one of the other members mentioned that it happened when the converter was locked, could it be that it is another problem? Any advice would be great.

When I broke in my new DTT I used cheap trans fluid which was the wrong type (didn't matter) and it would shudder. When I did my fluid change and put the right fluid in the shudder went away. So make sure you bought the right fluid.
