180 p pump questions

i have a 12v in a 2002 f350 superduty
i had a 12v 53 block that cracked
so i replaced it with a 02 55 block with all new pistons & decked block .025
it has taken me ab 6 months to do all this in my spare time and finally when i
was all finished my 215 pump had stuck the #4 piston closed and truck wouldnt start after exhausting every option i could find i bought a 180 pump
till i can get mine rebuilt i dont want to put a lot in this pump so i was thinking of puttin my tst 10 plate in it then i read they recomend a #4
the engine has 370 hp injectors a 62-14 htb2 turbo hd valve springs
so my question is how much power will i loose with the 10 plate in the 180 pump?
and where is a good place to send my 215 pump to be fixed

Why not just grind a 100 plate and go full forward with it. The ratings for those plates are in the stock location, so a #4 in stock location may not fuel as hard as a 10 in the forward position. I've got a 100 in my 24v, and I like it.

Actually if the two pumps ran the same plate the 215 pump will be a very noticable hp difference ( I would guess up to 100hp) For me swapping in a 913 pump was as noticable SOTP meter as the 140/150hp sticks were.

Right now the 215s are in there because I've been pulling the camper up the dang Coquihalla every second weekend....... that's got to be one of the meanest humps there is. I have a set of 140s that I ran for a little while in the spring but they are a no go for towing unless you slide the plate full back but you still have a smoke control issue so I find it nicer to use the pump to fuel with. I hope to try a set of 90hp ones next year. I guess the guys in areas with flatter terrain would be OK with the bigger sticks but....?

There are some people that are running the 160 pump and making enough power with bolt ons to run 11's. A 180 should be even better. I spoke to Brad Ponci (Ponci Diesel Center) earlier today. He has a 94 with a 160 pump that has never been off the truck. He has ran an 11.52 on diesel only with it. His combo is fairly simple.. 64 turbo, modded stock pump, and ddp injectors. Your 180 pump could produce plenty with bolt ons..

I was just reading through and the part about a 100 Plate, 4k GSK, 15.5° Timing, UnGutted AFC in a 24 caught my attention. I would be very interested to find out how to put a p pump on the higher flow 24v head. Did you have to have the injection lines custom made and did you have to replace the timing housing, and were there any other mods needed to do this.

I picked up the conversion kit from Schieds. Custom lines, 12v case, misc linkage parts, brackets, etc. Fairly straight forward, but lots of extras needed to make that kit complete. If you can pull wrenches with confidence, and do some light fabbing, its fairly easy.

Thanx for the info. I always wanted to do this but didnt have the time but now i know the lines are out there and has been done it is a must do for me. you wouldn't happen to know if the 24v head will go on a 12v, i thought the blocks were the same but i have not been into a 24v.

it will go on but the combustion chamber on the piston on the 12v is on the side and the 24v is in the middle therefore the injectors from the 24v going straight down in the cneter will not hit in the 12v combustion chamber need to change pistons also.

if you're looking to go big HP stick with the 180. It is capable of flowing more fuel than a 215 can when tuned by a shop.
