Question 12v 0r 24v?

I recently sold my 97 Ford psd and really, really want to get a cummins!!The problem is which one to get?I am really leery abut the lp and ip problems on the 24v.I don't hear of any major problems with the 12v.I am pulling a 32 ft travel trailer and want the confidence it will get me there and back.Which is more reliable with the least amount of problems?I am excited to get a cummins but need some help! Thanks.

The 12v engines are almost indestructable... The 24v are rey reliable, but the 12v's are just plain tough. if you ant minimal worries, get a 12v. It won't be as easy to find a nice one, but it can be done.

I agree go 12v, the only thing to worry about with the 12v is that you need to tab the KDP. Other than that there really isn't anything to worry about. Plus they're easy to bomb.

FWIW- I have had both, and when I buy another truck, it will be another 12v.

If you're sticking to the 2nd gen body style, I'd go with the 12v!

I own both...12v all the way!

And I'd stay away from autos, I love my 5 speed.

I just got my 97 at a Dodge dealer in a rural area, 117k, good condition. Lots of rural dealers will put older truck on the lot.
