See my comments in the edited post.

Sure looked like an ad to me...

Set your own price and put it in the classifieds, don't post it in the forum.

i think because even a "feeler ad" is considered an ad in general. you can post a feeler ad in the classifieds. just be sure to state that you're just looking to see what kind of interest there would be and that you're not sure what to ask. guys could give you their opinions there.

There are almost no 1st gen diesel trucks for sale in my area.
They seem to have a wide range in price online.
I truely have no idea what it is worth.
It was NOT a for sale ad.
Just wondering what I should put it up for sale for locally.
I listed all the pros and cons to get a more realistic price.

I read your question earlier & you seem to be in the right general range if it was located in my part of the country.

Sorry you're not happy but it is not up for negotiation.

If it looks like an ad, it gets deleted.

I appreciate your response Trebor, but I didn't put a price on the truck. I said there is a guy here in town who gave me a $1500 offer and I asked you guys if that sounds reasonable. To me it sounds a little low. Just asking what they sell for in that condition, thats why I spent all that time posting pics...for nothing. Seems a little harsh just because it "looks" like an ad, when in fact it's not.

Those are the rules, that is what the owner of the site has decided to do. We just have to live with it if we want to use the site.

Dave is correct, posts like that tend to turn into sale ads even if they are not intended that way in the beginning. If you truly want to know the value of something check KBB and then place it for sale in our free classifieds.

We do this because this place would look like a flea market in less than a week if we did not enforce the rules regarding advertising. If that happened then none of us would be able to find the info we all come to this forum for because it would be nothing but ads.
