Any good trany shops in AZ or so. CA

Months ago I upgraded my trany (see sig.) and it still isn't right.
Shifts real hard in to lockup in 4th. 600 rpm drop. Its not too bad empty but with a load it feels like its going to twist the driveline out. Going up threw the gears the rpm sits at around 2000-2200, so I'm thinking the converter is too loose, (stall is too high).

My installer is turning into a parts changer, who wants to blame it on ATS. So he calls ATS and they send out another valve body. I'm now on the third, and they want to do the 4th valve body.

So.. anybody know of someone who knows what they are doing? At this point I don't care if I get screwed by ATS, and my local guy. I'm willing to put someone else's parts in.

I have a call in to Goerends, and have seriously considered driving to Iowa, but guess he's too busy to get back to me. Now I don't mean to slam Dave, from what I have heard he's one the best, and he's just busy.

So.... any ideas?

Thanks TimK

If you've left a message with Dave he will call you back. He called me back the next day at 8 p.m. It was 9 p.m. there. He is a very busy guy, but he's busy for a reason. He's one of the best.

I actually did think about running up to Denver and talking to ATS face to face. I left a message with them in Denver, never did hear back. Kinda loosing confidence in them.

Suppose I can wait another week or so to hear from Dave before I have to make a decision. Its kinda funny actually, my customers routinely have to wait up to a year for me. But waiting a week for a phone call, from one of the best guys in the country, is driving me crazy.

I did that a couple of days after the first call. She says yep, your on the list, but your name has not been crossed off yet. So I guess thats a good thing. So I'll wait. Maybe his shop is underwater, heard Iowa has been having some flooding problems.

Dave is not under water, but I was in the same boat as you except I had a stock trans and couldn't hardly wait to hear from him. It took about 2 and a half weeks for him to call me after my first call because he was on vacation. But trust me if you can wait for it it will be worth the wait. I went to his shop about 2 weeks ago to have mine done, and all I can say so far is that it is very impressive. It doesn't slam when it shifts, it is firmer at normal driving but not harsh. When you are full throttle it shifts much firmer, but still not harsh by any means. Good luck, and have patience.

KKB, Patience... now thats funny . You obviously don't know me.
Do you mind if I ask how long he had your truck, and what all he did for you?
