Another thing some may look into is volunteer time provided by employers. We get 8 hours paid a year here, to put towards school or community service. My mother did this last week, I'm trying to get mine scheduled right now. Oct 1st, get to schedule it again. Your local red cross could probably use as much help as they do down there. They need people to help process the donations and count/sort money.

I received our workorders yesterday for our trip to Gulfport, MS this weekend for the next 7 days. We have another trip planned in November. I wish others would have been able to join me, food and lodging is free. All anyone has to pay for is the fuel to get there and of course you will have to provide your own tools. I'll be there Oct 3rd thru Oct 7th and planning to return just before Thanksgiving. This is a chainsaw mud-out trip. We remove sheetrock and floor covering and repair/cover leaky roofs. Lots of fun but lots of calories. The location is Pass Road Baptist Church and the contact person is Mr. Eddie Williams. He tells me there will be much to do for months to come.
