My wire colors changed somewhere between the OEM headunit to the speakers...so be careful!

AND, the speakers were self-amp'ed, so when I added a new headunit, I ran my own wires and bypassed the speaker amps - and eventually put in REAL infinity speakers (the paper-coned OEM's were garbage!).

I assume your system is like my old one, so...If you are keeping the headunit, you'll need to amp the new speakers externally -

I don't know if this helps... from a 2001.

I was too lazy to run my own wires, so I used the existing wires.

I think basically what you need to do is take the wires OUT of the speaker, and just connect them. E.g. "Amplified low right rear speaker +" gets connected to "right rear speaker +". This way I used my new headunit to power new speakers. Sounds much better but I would love to run a 4 channel amp some day. Don't kill me if you blow a fuse though - I just can't remember what exactly I did
I started to write a HOW TO but never got around to finishing!!!

"The left front door speaker powers all of the left side speakers and the same is true for the right side. Basically, all of the wires go "in" to this speakers where there is a built-in amplifier."

Here is what I did. Info straight from Crutchfirld:
Instructions for installation of aftermarket speakers in vehicles with Infinity speaker systems.

Left front: Connect yellow/red and dark green to + of new speaker
Connect yellow/black and brown/red to – of new speaker

Left rear: Connect brown/yellow to white/violet
Connect brown/light blue to white/dark green

Insulate ends of these wires: black/red and black violet

Right front: Connect light blue/red and violet to new speaker +
Connect dark blue/red and light blue/black to new speaker –

Right rear: Connect dark blue/white and tan/violet
Connect dark blue/orange and tan/black

These are for an 2002 Dodge Ram with Infinity sound system
