If people want to look elsewhere for the joint the shaft diameter and spline count is 3/4X36spl -3/4 round

Yes, The shaft I used was out of an 86 gasser. It was 2 1/2 inches longer then the original shaft off of my truck.

The gasser shaft measured 19" from the column side of the rag joint with the rag joint still installed to the spot where the shaft necks down, whereas my original shaft measured 16 1/2 from the same points of reference.

I cut the shaft at 18 3/4 and the shaft side of the yoke is at 17 3/4(where I welded it)

Thanks pulltilbroke. I'll have to order a couple of these up for my cross over steering setups. It'll be a lot cheaper then buying a borgsen (sp?) shaft.
