Would my exhaust setup be bad?

I just got my autometer dash pod today. Gauges are on the way and a rail gauge.

Anyways what i did to my exhaust was this: Since I have a 2004.5 i left the factory 4 " exhaust. I used a sawzall and cut my catylic converter out. I then stuck the aero4040xl there the way it goes with arrow towards back of truck. I drilled a few holes on each side and fastened aero with pop rivets and then I stepclamped (bandclamp)over top of the rivets. I then sawzalled stock muffler off and put a muffler delete pipe from genos garage where muffler was. I did the same by pop rivetting ends and then stepclamping overtop. I used high temp silicone under stepclamps as well.

Could my exhaust be my egt problem because its factory 4" and not mandrel bent?

as you all know 700ish F on highway 65 mph empty. When i mash on pedal it jumps to 1450 F FAST and edge juice attitude alarm goes off and defuels. I have the defuel set for 1250 F and the alarm for 1450 F. Funny thing is even though backdown is 100% it still gets to 1450. And thats on level 1 to. Level 0 Stock is the same. I will unhook edge when ALL my gauges come but I was thinking other day of my exhaust being the problem maybe.

But shouldnt my surrent exhaust setup be better than factory?

Mine never gets above 1250º with the truck fully loaded and towing the trailer up hills in 6th gear.

What kinda gauge you have? I wouldn't trust it, no way it should be getting that hot so easily.

Your exhaust sould NOT be a problem with that set-up. (you sure the arrow points to the rear of truck)????????

yes. another way to tell is that the A on aero is towards the back bumper and the O on aero is towards the front bumper. right? plus the arrow is right.

Your gauge is the one I wouldn't trust! A stock '06 should be able to max out at 1300-1400* pretty easy.

Now if you're talking 1250* just cruising up hills when loaded then that would make sense. He was talking max EGT's so of course those will be higher than towing EGT's.

You're chasing a ghost man. Those EGT's are perfectly normal for your truck. If anything is wrong it's likely the Edge EGT gauge. Those have been known to have problems. Definitely not your exhaust. The stock 4" is good for 600+hp.

Okay, sure, so you're saying a bone stock truck will hit 1400* from the factory? Isn't that well into the red on your pyro gauge, to the point you're doing damage to the engine? I don't think that's right.

Yes, most of the later trucks run that hot straight from the factory. Ask around and you'll see. Apparently it doesn't do damage.

My guess is the "Edge" is your problem and not the exhaust.
