VP44 Success

Since there have been so many stories out there of failing VP44's lately, mine included, I thought I would spread a little sunshine. I just got my truck back on the road this past weekend! I had my VP44 die before Christmas. I got the IP, Gauges and Vulcan relocation kit and new lift pump and did the fix myself. Installed all the gauges and she is running great! I even got rid of the clicking I had before. I posted on that before. I would be driving at higher speeds and I would here a click that had no specific pattern to it. It kinda sounded like a switch opening and closing like a flasher. Well after the replacement of the IP and lift pump I no longer have the tick. I am not sure if they are related or what but I am happy. Now if I can figure out my trailer light issue I will be a happy camper. I am by no means an auto tech, but I can tinker when I need to. The job was pretty straight forward and took me about 3 days to do...off and on and getting the right tools and what not. Saved me a lot of money and taught me a lot in the process. thanks to all the help on here and keep up the good work guys.

Good work! Nothing like a job done right to make you feel good.

I may need to hire you in a while. I have 206K on my VP-44. Actually, I'm kinda looking forward to it.

Congrats, on the success. I replaced my VP44 at the end of November, truck had 80,000. The CTD is much more mechanic friendly than other light truck diesels out there.
