I think I may have the same thing in my 01' it doesnt matter if I stay at the rpm or when i am going past that rpm it makes that chatter noise your talking about. Mine also does occansionally at 24-2500 rpms.

I do not hear any chattering sound in the rpm range you describe. The sound of the engine is the same through the RPM range. Is this a new thing or has it always been that way...Now I will listen again to my truck, but I feel like there is no sound like you describe.
Did it do it before you adjusted the lash? When I adjusted mine, the constant valve clatter went away-the engine was much quieter and my mileage has improved 1mpg. Has your mileage dropped at all? Did you notice any difference in performance after the valve adjust? What specs did you bring the lash to?

i didnt do the adjusting myself.. a shop did it..it was louder before i did it..its is quieter now..i have only had the truck for about 15000km and it has done it the whole time..it is doing it right before it shifts.. the sound is louder than it is normal but it seems like the valves are just louder at this RPM not like ones out of adjustment....my chip was installed then the lift pump went so he didnt install it after...could the timing still be advanced?? or is it done through the computer??

Ahhhh...maybe you are hearing a timing issue...if that's the case it is probably out of my area of expertise...but I think the sound can be a result. Timing is done by the computer. If the chip modifies the timing maybe that is what you are hearing?

sounds like a timing thing to me. My truck does it under light throttle. Then if you get back into it even just a little, the louder rattle goes away. Mine has done it stock, with Smarty, and now with Juice stacked. I think it just the ECM changing the timing on it.
