Turbo Porting

I am planning on porting both the compressor and exhaust housing on my Stage IV/16. Any advice?

I wouldnt really worry about the compressor. Just port match the flanges to the exhaust gasket

Thanks. You wouldn't recommend smoothing the castings on the inside?

Since no one wanted to respond to your question. Port match your exhaust on your turbo, even if you only port match. Port match your exhaust manifold, from exhaust flange to the head. Flow the exhaust side of your head. Its all free flow, lower drive pressure, plus HP.. Spools fast with lower DP...HTH...There will be someone here to add to this, I'm sure...

Yeah i ported my manifold, but haven't ported my turbo...yet anyways. and i'm not sure how much it helped cuz thats the same time i put my he351 on, so it was a much different truck with the turbo itself, But i'm sure it helped a little. Definately worth doin, its free and will help! I pretty much just gasket matched the side that bolts to the head. So I say just match the gasket, and put some paper towels down in the ports to keep shavings out, then use a vacuum to suck them out. Let us know how much the turbo porting helps, I'm interested

This was going to be my question, i have the turbo disassembled, took awhile being careful not to hurt anything. I have blasted it and its waiting for paint. Will probably go over the exhaust housing one more time to knock the flash rust off. I wondered if it was worth removing the manifold and freshening it up too? Then once clean maybe gasket match and even smooth the turbo casting.

That's all I did. Took about 1/2 hour or so.
