Transmission Worries
My dad has an 01 with a 6 speed and he said that when he is driving the more the transmission heats up the harder it is to shift. He says it feels like when the fluid heats up its harder to shift and when its thicker its easier. If you put thicker fluid in there would it fix the prob or what else could be wrong. Also it shifts pretty well but every gear the you put it in it grinds no matter whether you are shifting up or down any thoughts on this problem would be greatly appreciated

That would be the syncro's letting out on you... Transmission will have to be rebuilt with new ones and have all the bearings, shafts, shift collars, and gears looked at while someone's in there. After he gets it rebuilt he should consider double clutching when possible to save on the syncros a little...
