Any worries with purchasing this truck:

2001 (not 2001.5) 2500, RWD, Quad cab, SLT, 6spd HO, 160K miles out of Texas.

Price is 14,9 which happens to be the avg of the KBB dealer trade in and private party value.

Yeah 160K miles is a lot... but it's got the Dana 80, the 6spd and the HO motor... and being 2WD no t-case, front axle, u-joints, etc. etc. to worry about... Thoughts?

I have a 2001 as well with 161,500 and loving every day of it. With these open roads here in Texas, there is no telling how many miles you might put on in 1 day. Seriously though as for maintenance records or at least look the truck over test drive you know all the goods. And by all means ASK questions don't go without asking something and be in a crap hole with it. Good Luck. Aaron

For comparison sake we have a 01.5 3500 2wd on the lot with 75K miles and I believe they want 24K for it. Of course I'm sure that's negotiable, but way more than the one your looking at. I do know this truck was well taken care of and my wife and I kicked around the idea of trading our 2500 4x4 for it as we could get a bigger race trailer. We decided to stay with what we have, but if you are interested in the 3500 pm me. We're only four hours away from the Phoenix area.

Seems high to me. I bought mine in the sig last year with 30K for $25k.

During my search I came up with a formula that proved pretty accurate. Subtract $1k for each year and $0.10 for each mile from new. With that formula the truck in question would be $20K off of new.

Why aren't you replacing with something more in line with the '03 that got ripped?

Yeah sorry that is a long drive from Poteet, maybe another member that lives up there can help you out.
