Is the transmission slipping?

Bought a new truck it’s an auto. It is my first dodge auto. The guy I bought it from told me the previous owner put in goerend parts. I have not yet confirmed that. The thing is it seems kinda like its slipping but im not sure. It just seems to wind kinda high with some go but then I pulled my 4runner back last night and it seemed to have very little go until the TC locked up, like I said im new to autos. When the Tc is locked should it feel like that all the time? Or is that just kinda how the autos feel. I do know that when it does lock I had no trouble pulling hills at 75mph with a car hauler and 4runner in tow. If that is how its supposed to feel is there anything I can do to firm the shift points up?

They dont lock in 2nd or 3rd with the OD on. OD off it will lock in 3rd.

no, it shouldn't feel that way all of the time. The previous owner probably put a valvebody on it, and no torque converter. most aftermarket torque converters have a lower stall speed, causing them to have a lot better fluid coupling characteristics, and a less noticeable change between converter clutch locked, and unlocked.

Put a gauge on that tranny. Real easy to install. My stock setup still gets the fluid hot!
Where are the pics?

Im taking the pics today. I rechecked the Trans fluid last night didn't look or smell burnt .I also watch a few vides on U tube of autos and i guess that's how the autos run. i plan to get a gauge within the month just have to find a place to mount it until i get my triple A pillar pod.
