towing 10,000??

just towed my toyhauler empty, 10,000 pound bumper pull..

When i reprogram my smarty i have to unplug my fass 150, or it screws up the programming. not every time but just sometimes?

I forgot to plug it back in before the 8 mile drive! it ran fine and the egt's were good. sw 3 / timing 2/ rp default/tm 2/ waste gate off..

How could it do this without the fuel pump plugged in? was the injection pump working extra hard? did i screw it up??

Yea you are good. As long as you wernt doggin on it and luggin it real bad your good. I ran for a couple days with a burnt up airdog not plugged in and it was fine. Just took it easy.

I doubt if you hurt anything....I could be wrong, but I think I've read that the new d-maxes run basicly the same inj. pump as our dodges with no lift pump at all.

The CP3 is not supposed to be able to pull fuel through the LP if it's not working. Are you sure the LP was not running???

I agree with all these guys though....

I have read that too but the system is not designed to work that way. The truck is "supposed" to shut down if the LP dies. Luckily it does not always work that way.....

Not true. The design of the canister LP meant that it would shut down if the pump failed. The in-tank is designed so that it doesn't shut down. Lack of fuel will not harm the CP3, as its been said the dmax CP3 doesn't use a LP.

The Dmax has a 1/2" fuel line not 3/8"

True, which is why you will probably feel reduced performance with the 3/8" lines.. but the point is that they can/will suck fuel just fine.

I ran my truck for 6 months without my fass running. I had no idea, my truck didn't skip a beat. My relay broke.

Your CP3 will pull fuel, but if there is a restriction in the line that won't allow it to thats another story. The CP3 is designed to pull fuel, Bosch specs for the CP3 are -5 to +15 psi.

That's the first I have read about the intank pump working that way. Almost makes me wish I had one. LOL I keep a spare canister mounted unit with me at all times. I guess that's a smart move....
