Top Dmax injector pump rusting?

My brand new D-max pump in my Dual kits is covered in surface rust. I havent opened the hood in awhile, cause I have been driving my little frontier most days. But man I opened the hood today and its rusty as heck. No leaks, maybe I should crack a line and let it drip diesel to lubricate the outside of the pump . But seriously I dont want to screw it up, so how would you clean it up?
Im afraid a strong solvent will get on the belt, return lines etc and degrade them. Im not super crazy about bling under the hood but this thing is an bad to the point Im embarassed to show anyone under the hood.

I try a cotton cloth with a little WD-40 or Liquid Wrench and some elbow grease. Spray it on the cloth first then rub away. Its how I clean my tools of surface rust.

You got valve springs on that motor?

Does Tim have a website at all that you know of?

BTW, I was at Rockingham over this past weekend and there was a black Cherokee SRT-8 with an intake, exhaust and programmer laying down very solid and repeatable 12.7's. That thing was wicked fast. My wife wanted to get a Cherokee and I was barely able to talk her into the small V-8. She didn't want a hemi because of fuel mileage, but she did like the looks of the SRT-8.

http://www.trediesel.com/Turbo.htm Tims site.

And yes my stock GC SRT-8 is nuts, something about the pull of an AWD naturally asperated 6.1L is just crazy. It pulls so hard off the line, it still shocks me. But man shes an expensive one to maintain. And yes the fuel economy is 11-13 at best. Take it easy, Ryan.

After you clean the IP, spray it with clear coat, or black, or whatever color

Ambient temps drop at nite, then come back up during the day, resulting in the stuff under you hood sweating as moisture in the warm air condenses on the cold metal as temps pass thru the dewpoint - this doesn't happen when the vehicle is driven first thing in the morning, as engine heat qickly evaporates any humidity in the air

You may also notice oxidation on the alternator and other aluminum stuff
