thanks for the help
I do not have a diesel but was googling a problem I had with my turn signals and found ya'll here. I have a 2002 1500 ram that for the last year the turn signals work some days and not others. I set it for left and the right would come on or the other way around. Some times nothing at all would happen. On here I found a thread that I can no longer find discussing the problem but no one hade a good answer but a few hit on something I was thinking. It seemed the problem was more common when it rained. The fix was to take the turn signal switch out of the steering column and replace it. I decided to take it a step father and see why the switch wasn't working. I took the switch appart and found moister on the control board and wipped it clean and put it back together. It took longer for the right tools then it did to do everything. Anyway it has been a month now and it has worked every single time. My friend has a 02 diesel that has had the same problem three times and he bought his replacement with a life time warranty, so he just takes it back every time and gets a new one.
