Straight axle swap??

Does anyone know if a straight front axle off of a 74 3/4 ton chevy will square up on a 93 d350? If so what kind of hubs will be needed for the offset wheels? Thanks

By "straight axle", are you meaning a 4x4 front axle, or a genuine 2wd straight front axle ??

I am fairly certain that the spring-to-spring measurements on a GM 4x4, 1/2-, 3/4-, or 1-ton makes no matter, are all the same from 1967 to 1987.

I know they are the same from 1973 to 1987.

As for the DRW offset adapters, they can be found on just about any GM. Dodge, or Ford 4x4 front-end.

If you use the GM ones, you will also have to use GM wheels/plates on them.

The Fords and Dodges should use the same wheel.

You'll need a 1ton front axle if you want to keep the dually front wheels and use factory dually hubs.

Yeah a 3/4 ton truck will only have a dana 44 with small ball joints. The weight of the cummins will wear these out very quickly.

Find a M1000 CUCV (6.2l) truck with the Dana 60 up front. Pull the 4.56's out and replace them with something higher and you'd have a tough axle.

GM only used Dana 60's in 1 tons' with certain GVW ratings, in the 70's and 80's...

The GM axle is slightly different than the Dodge axle, the short side tube length is not the same. Everything else from the kingpins out is identical in both Shivvy and Dodge.

Dodge track width is 67.5" and Chevy is 69.5". Spring pads on the Dodge D60 measure 32.5" apart and Chevy is 32". The outers are the same.
